Winter Driving – Tire Requirements in Canada

Winter tires are *required* for driving on a number of highways in Canada (many near the ski areas!) It has been reported that some drivers have been turned back without them. ┬áPlease familiarize yourself with the regulations and be safe! (Some would say that these are good common-sense rules for driving to ski areas in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Alaska, too! ┬áTires must be M+S or have the ‘mountain’ pictograph on them.

Rumo[u]rs suggest that if you are in an accident without snow tires, you may be held to a higher liability standard.
